Wandering around Shanghai and meeting up with Carl again

We found this great little dumpling place 2 blocks from us.  A hole in the wall, almost literally.  They had a stainless steel double burners, that could hold deep cauldrons of the broth.  They would then cook the dumplings in a side pot and transfer them to a bowl and ladle on the broth.   They had the best dumplings in soup.  It was a staple every morning...it got so the woman in charge would just nod and send us to a seat.  Food would arrive, perfectly made.  I always got the mushroom and pork dumplings in broth, and Bill the meat dumplings in broth.

We wandered around town looking for some kind of electronics store to purchase a flash drive for the iPhone.  We didn't find one.  It was a rainy, gloomy day, so there wasn't much interest in staying outdoors.  We wandered around the French Concession and found this funky little bookstore-cafe.  We sat down outside as the weather had cleared up a bit and ordered some adult beverages.  I ended up finishing the bottle.  We did eat a little something as well.  The price was ridiculously cheap at that!

We met up with Carl at The District and had a couple of drinks before Julia joined us.

We ate at the Yunnan place and then took the bus to Carl's house to meet up with Julia and see his 2 beautiful daughters, Freya, 8, and Linnea, 6.  These are truly 2 beautiful little girls.  We hung out there for a while drinking green tea and talking and we realized that they had to go to work the next morning....so off we went in a cab.
