Sunday back in Beijing

The 3 of us flew back to Beijing.  Bill and I had our meeting before going to DPRK and Wendy had to move into her new apartment.  We took a cab to our hotel, City Line, near the train station and Wendy took the metro back to try to get the keys to her new place.  We agreed we would meet up later on for dinner.

The new hotel did not have much going for it other than a laundry machine that people could use.  Bill jumped on that as we had a ton of dirty clothing and weren't sure how we could get them cleaned before leaving for DPRK.  We were told that the laundry facility in the hotel in DPRK was more of a dry cleaner, rather than laundry, so it became urgent that we get our laundry done.

Bill took care of that task while I tried to air out the room.  There were 2 large NO SMOKING signs in the hall as well as one in the room, but obviously someone or more than one had smoked in the room.  It was breezy, so opening the window and propping the door open did the trick.

The dryer did not work very well, so we had to drape slightly wet clothing over any surface that could handle it.  It looked like our luggage had exploded!

At 7 pm we assembled in the lobby to await Servet and Wendy.  We ended up trying to find a duck place, but it was since shuttered and instead chose a place that was, miraculously, halal.

The meal was quite tasty and we all parted ways....oh, we did pawn off on Servet all the stuff we did not want to cart to DPRK, so Bill stuffed him into a cab.
